My word of the week: Pride.
Jay and I could not be more thrilled tonight. I am so proud of our team … proud of their tireless hard work, I’m proud of their dedication to the ITW vision, and I’m proud of their constant innovation and continuous improvement. Tonight was very special, and we’re going to cherish this for a long time. After getting nominated in 8 categories for this year’s CDN Channel Elite Awards (CEAs), we took home hardware in 6 of them (more info here). And to top it off … ITW has been named 2010 Solution Provider of the Year.
Wow. Pride.
Along with 5 other Wepz (Mike, Anthoula, Frank, Jeremy, and Brett) we were joined by two of our great customers to celebrate the evening; George Fowler from IRC Building Sciences Group, and Andrew Lemon from Ornge. To share these honours with them means the world to us … The fantastic work our team did with their organizations in 2009 was at the centre of tonight’s ceremony. Our customers are our life blood.
As I’ve mentioned before, the coolest thing about these particular industry awards is that we are measured on the innovation and success of our solutions and services from the client and user’s perspective. The judging panel consists of CIOs and IT executives from high profile organizations across Canada. For all intents and purposes, these awards are impartial and vendor-neutral. We didn’t get nominated for the best ‘Bill Gates solution’ or the most Office licenses sold … Rather, we’ve been recognized for practical, creative solutions that solve real business problems.
And now according to our peers in the industry across Canada … IT Weapons is #1. We have no shortage of self esteem at ITW … We know we work hard and do a great job. But when others (peers, customers, industry insiders) stand up and honour us … that is quite another thing altogther.
Like I said … Pride. What a great team we have.
